EDUCATOR/PUBLIC HEALTH Medina has got her BSC in Nursing from  Semera University and her Master’s in MPH.  She is currently serving as a lecturer in Nursing at Semera University. Medina participates in community activities, engages in research and provides tutorial classes for female students apart from her main job as a lecturer. She has 8 children as she starts marriage at the age of 18 and serves as a role model for not stopping her dreams of education despite her responsibilities as a mother and as a wife.

EDUCATOR/CLINICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST/WOMEN EMPOWERMENT Melatwork is a Lecturer at Addis Ababa University, Department of Medical Laboratory Science with more than 10 years of experience. She has BSc degree in Medical Laboratory Science and MSc degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Hematology and Immunohematology Specialty track. Melatwork has served as the coordinator of the extension program and chairperson for the department research ethics and review committee. Melatwork has published research papers in international peer reviewed journals and currently working on multiple manuscripts for publication. Besides earning many certificates in continuous professional development trainings, she has also attended short term leadership, advocacy, peace and security training including leadership in public management at YALI RLC EA. She spends her free time by volunteering for youth empowerment organizations such as YALDA where she served as writer and content creation coordinator for the publicity and communications team. She also served as the Chairperson of the YALI RLC alumni chapter of Ethiopia. Melatwork founded her own non-profit women empowerment and mentorship program in 2019 that trained and certified young women in leadership and personal development courses to help them be efficient in their professional as well as personal lives. In 2022, She was selected to participate at the AU-EU summit in Brussels as a youth rapporteur representing YALDA. Melatwork hopes to contribute to policy making in the higher education and health sectors that will make a positive sustainable impact for her country.

LANGUAGE/LITERATURE Meretech is an English language instructor in Arba Minch University and currently she is a PhD Candidate. She has considerable work experience as English language skill trainer: she gave the training called ELIP (English Language Improvement Program) organized by British council in collaboration with Ministry of education and she was a TOT for the training called TELL (Teach English for Life Learning) which was prepared by USAID in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and American Institutes for Research. She also prepared and developed Multimedia Based Learning and Teaching Supplementary Package (MBLTSP) for English, Grade 1 and 2 students. She also served as a gender focal in Dilla University.

EDUCATOR/GENDER SPECIALIST/RESEARCHER  Meron is an Associate Professor who has extensively researched and published on various gender related issues in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa regions. She has years of teaching and research experience at renowned academic institutions in Africa, North America, Europe and Asia, and is a member of several international academic associations. She has rich research experience on numerous international and national academic research projects. Her core research expertise is in areas of migration, gendered labor markets, violence against women, religion, and customary conflict resolution. Meron has extensively published in internationally renowned peer-reviewed journal on a wide range of topics. She has authored books, edited volumes and journals, contributed chapters to several edited volumes and entries in encyclopedias including the oxford research encyclopedia of African history. She is an international editorial board member of Islamic Africa (Brill) and the Editor in Chief of the Ethiopian Journal of Human Rights. She has received several international awards and grants for her researches. She is one of the few African prominent scholars included in Academia. Net, the platform for selected female scientists around the globe recognized for their research and publications. She has also been featured on BBC with a special focus on her research on gender issues in the horn of Africa.

EDUCATOR/COMMUNICATION/MEDIA  Rebecca is solution- focused education and communication specialist who has more than 20 years of experience in media, communication and education, and educational management. She has worked in different media houses in Ethiopia and abroad as a photographer, reporter, editor, editor-in-chief and publisher of the first bilingual monthly sports magazine, and she a teacher and school manager. She received her Master of Arts in Ethiopian Studies with specialization in Museology, BA in broadcast journalism and communication, BA in English Literature from Addis Ababa University as well as a diploma in educational administration and management from the Asian College of Teachers and a Diploma in Media studies from Oslo University. She is also a certified fact-checker. Rebecca is a member of the International Association of Women in Radio and Television, currently, serving as chair-person for the Ethiopian Media Women Association executive board.

EDUCATOR/LAWYER   Zebiba has a background in Law and specialized in International Economic and Business Law (L.L.M) and MA in Development Management. She is the Program Coordinator of Addis Ababa University, Center for Human rights, and Part-time Program Coordinator of U.S. embassy American Spaces, Dire Dawa American Corner. She is also a lecturer and licensed lawyer to practice before any court. Additionally, she is Young African Leadership, Regional Leadership Center (YALI RLC alumni), Mandela Washington Fellowship alumni, Pan African youth Leadership program of the U.S. government, and Meridian International Adult mentor and representative of Ethiopia as nominated by the embassy. She is also a Founder and Executive Director of Female Law Students and Legal Professional Network that works towards UNSDG goal #5 and is the first Public-private High School club that works to improve education quality under UNSDG goal#4 through mentorship and to expand community service amongst high school students.

ENERGY/ENGINEER Filagot is founder of on energy consult, a licensed Engineer and a power sector expert. Filagot has various work experiences in engineering, construction, manufacturing, and energy – gender. She has been an independent consultant for various energy projects including Power Africa East Africa Energy Program, ADELE World Bank Program, Energy2Equal Renewable Energy (RE) of IFC, and improved cookstove and Special initiative jobs program of GIZ. She is an expert of off-grid energy, clean cooking, grid extension, solar, energy efficiency, lighting, demand power and PAYG. Moreover, Filagot has initiated the Ethiopian Women in Energy Association (EWiEn), was the first president of EWiEn for three years and she regularly advocates the role of women in the energy sector as change agents and beneficiaries. Filagot’s story was featured on various publications including SE4all and BBC media action Ethiopia and she has been selected by prestigious programs including Women4Climate of C40 cities, Mandela Washington Fellowship, Open Africa Power, Women in African power, and Global Women Network for Energy Transition (GWNET).
