MEDIA/COMMUNICATION/FACILITATOR Metasebia has over 20 years of experience, in print to radio and television as reporter, producer and presenter as well as master of ceremonies to high level events. She has worked with various local and international private, not-for-profit and governmental institutions. She also has hosted corporate and social events as master of ceremonies, lead high level meetings and moderated panels on various topics. She has a deep understanding of the Ethiopian media landscape with a wide network across Africa. Among her works in media are: – Producer & presenter of the first mobile app-based live interactive TV game show in Ethiopia, Meda Shi on Fana TV – Producer and host of the popular unique experiential travel show, Let’s Go with Meti, on LTV – Co-founder and producer of the highest income generating syndicated infotainment show, Tadias Addis, on Sheger FM 102.1 – The only Ethiopian contestant in the continental reality show, Survivor Africa in Panama, on M-Net Channel on DSTV – Co-hosted the Ethiopian episode of a Pan-African travel show, Destinations Africa, on EbonyLife TV on DSTV – Co-hosted on the Pan-African magazine show, Studio 54, on M-Net Channel on DSTV.  Metasebia has founded QUEENDOM.MEDIA, a Pan-African multimedia production house focusing on television programs, documentaries, personal and company profiles, and advertisements. Metasebia has served in the board of AWIB (Association of Women in Boldness) was its president in 2018. She closely works with youth groups such as AIESEC and Rotaract clubs. She also mentors young women in Meri Mentorship Program by Earuyan Solutions as well as young women’s leadership program of the Ministry of Women, Youth and Children.

GENDER/MEDIA  Melkamsew is a journalist, a radio producer, a media trainer, mentor and a media entrepreneur. She began her career as a radio producer in 2004. She has produced programs and reports that up lift development of women and girls in the society. She has also served as senior producer and trainer at BBC media action Ethiopia where she mentored other producers in radio stations across the different parts of the country. She has MA in Journalism and Communication and BA in Foreign Languages and Literature from Addis Ababa University.  Her major trainings are on reporting resilience, media leadership, radio production, public service announcement production and social media management. Currently, she is working as a media advisor for a weekly women radio show named ‘Yimechish’ which discusses decisions women make every day and how it affects their lives.

JOURNALIST Lidya is an editor -in-chief and currently produces various radio and TV shows. She is well recognized by “Ethiopiawi Wenzoch,” which is a show produced once a week on radio. It focuses on the GERD, bilateral cooperation, water policy, diplomatic issues and international laws.  She also produces the station’s editorial article on political, economic and social issues to enlighten the general public and criticize voids in the structure of the government. “Lisane Mircha 2013” is another successful radio show which focuses on election issues. She was leading the debate among the 6th national election. ”Kela“ is her TV show in which prominent political figures appear and discuss current political affairs.

FACT CHECKER/BUSINESS JOURNALIST Kiya works for Code for Africa (CfA). Prior to joining CfA, she was a reporter for the Ethiopian Business Review magazine. She has taken part in the European Journalism Centre project called Interruptrr Africa. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Addis Ababa Institute of Technology. Also, she has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Unity University. Kiya won a gold medal and trophy from Unity University for academic excellence. She is a 2019 YALI RLC EA fellow. She is interested in economics, fact-checking, investigative journalism, technology, gender equality, development issues, SDGs, and Agenda 2063. She is also a fellow at ONE.

MEDIA/COMMUNICATION/FILM Kidist has MA in Amharic Literature and Folklore from Addis Ababa University and BA in Theology from Holy Trinity Theology College. Her major trainings are on film editing, the role of media communication in combating harmful traditional practices, self- regulation and formation of media council and media and children’s Right.  She has participated in Haile Gerima’s Teza feature film as promoter and coordinator. She has produced and hosted radio Programs such as Biruh Tesfa on Radio Ethiopia and Edil on radio FM. She was also a program producer and host in radio fana and also served as assistant film director in Yewenzoch Maebel by Salem Mekuria.  She was also an actress and has shown her talent in the city council of Addis Ababa theater and cultural hall, Ras Theater, Addis Ababa University theatrical arts department and cultural center, in a film by Ethiopian Film Corporation called ” B’hiwot zuria “, in a weekly radio play entitled “Mefcha ” and a play entitled ” Agul Tsebay”.  Kidist has contributed her share as a board member of Ethiopian Media Women Association. She has an honorary cup award and certificate for her share as one of the contributors for the Ethiopian film industry in its 50 years journey.
