DISABILITY ADVOCATE Dibabe is Executive Directress of Ethiopian women with disability national association and a founder and member of Sexual and Gender Based Violence women movement campaign led by Network of Ethiopian Women’s Association(NEWA), she is board member in Ethiopian Disability Action Network, an advisory committee member in Ethiopian Civil Society and executive committee in Ethiopian civil society organization national counsel, member in African Women in dialogue, East African Women Human Rights Defender and Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs Ethiopian Disability Act draft committee, and Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs report organizer committee. Currently, she is a General Manager at Ethiopian Women with Disabilities National Association and as a leader and a woman with disability herself.  Dibabe has led disability movement campaigns, met with Addis Ababa Mayor and decision makers and lobby for inclusive service delivery, and advocate for women with disability rights. She is a woman with disability who, despite facing multifaced challenged in her country, surpassed challenges and used them as an opportunity to grow and be an advocate for all persons with disability to exercise their human rights fully.

COMMUNICATION/LEADERSHIP/GENDER Zewdie has twenty-five-year career working in UNICEF for women’s advancement in Ethiopia, following nine years working in Ethiopian government Ministries in radio programming and in promoting family life education; involved in the preparation of women’s national policy and constitution; prepared manuals on gender auditing, mainstreaming, and gender analysis and trained many men and women in government and in civil society in bringing gender concerns and analysis to the forefront of their work. She was involved in civil society’s works as a general assembly and board member/chair as well as contributing professional advice, leadership, and policy ideas on the welfare of children and women. Zewdie was able to contribute to a progressive women’s policy promulgated by the Transitional Government in 1993, to contribute to progressive language on women’s and children’s rights in the Constitution adopted in 1995, and to train many government and non‐government leaders in gender-sensitive development practices during her long career. She has Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and Social Science, and master’s degree in Educational Administration. Zewdie has received numerous certificates, letters of appreciation, gifts from ministries, international organizations, regional governments, NGOs, religious organizations, civil societies, and farmer’s and women’s associations. Enat Bank, initiated by some of Ethiopia’s leading businesswomen, named one of its branches in her name.

LAWYER/POLICY ADVOCACY/COMMUNICATION Soleyana is a lawyer and policy expert by training. She was one of the founders of the Zone Nine bloggers, a group formed by Ethiopian online activist’s blogging on human rights and democracy issues since 2012.  She also coordinated the Ethiopia Human Rights Project (EHRP), a project which seeks to bolster the advocacy work done by domestic and international actors to advance human rights in Ethiopia. Soleyana has international experience on advocacy, democratization, and policy research. She was charged under the country’s former Anti-Terrorism Proclamation as a lead defendant and she got back to Ethiopia after five years of political exile and joined the reforming National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), as a communications Advisor and Spokesperson. She led the credibility and transparency strategic pillar of the organization for three years before she left the NEBE. She is currently an independent consultant.

DEVELOPMENT WORKER Seada was born in Assayita special name Sehale. She has completed her diploma in animal science from Jimma University and got her bachelor’s degree from Haramaya University in the same field of study. She has served in different positions for the last 14 years.  She has got her Master’s degree in Cooperative Marketing from Mekelle University. She was engaged in several initiatives that empower the financial capacity of women. As a technical assistant to UNFP she is trying to stop harmful traditional practices in Afar region such as female genital mutilation and early marriage.
