GENDER EQUALITY/ SOCIAL INCLUSION Hawi studied Economics, Public Relation and Strategic Communication. She is well experienced in gender, development and management. Hawi has more than 14 years of solid experience in the development sector, in areas of women empowerment, gender equality, child protection, and social/downward accountability. She has accumulated years of experience working as projects lead for women empowerment and child protection, team leader in different projects and GESI lead at consortium levels. Her experience working at grassroots level added a live component on her experience as gender equality and social inclusion practitioner. Hawi holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Bahirdar University in Ethiopia and a master’s degree from Addis Ababa University’s public relations and strategic communication program.

GENDER/WOMEN RIGHTS ADVOCATE Feteh has MA in project management; B. A. in Gender and development and LLB degree. She is a women right’s activist and advocate for gender equality. She is experienced in facilitation of gender sensitization trainings, evidence-based advocacy, and gender transformative programing. She is well versed in project management concepts; human right based approach to programming gender analysis and management for planning and policy enrichment.

GENDER/MEDIA/COMMUNICATION Bethlehem is a media and communications expert specializing on gender & media, representation of women in media and feminism in Ethiopia. Bethlehem has published research and assessments around gender representation in media in Ethiopia, made presentations at various national, regional conferences and workshops. Bethlehem has an extensive experience in the field of communication, advocacy, public relations, and media. An active member of the Ethiopian Media Women Association (EMWA), Bethlehem holds an MA in Politics and the Mass Media from the University of Liverpool and BA in Foreign Languages and Literature from Addis Ababa University. Bethlehem is currently working at UN Women Ethiopia Country Office. A former journalist and gender equality advocate, she uses various platforms to write about gender equality and Women Empowerment. Among these platforms are Africanfeminism.com, a pan-African feminists’ digital platform and collaborative writing project between African writers which aims to amplify African feminist voices. She also ran a weekly column on gender issues and politics in the Ethiopian news and information platform, Addis Maleda for over a year. Bethlehem is currently serving as a member of Advisory Council for Action Aid Ethiopia and is a member of The African Women’s Development and Communications Network (FEMNET).

GENDER/HUMAN RIGHTS Ankets is passionate about working on human rights, gender equality and justice. She has worked in the NGO sector in Ethiopia for more than 13 years on the professions of gender officer, program officer, gender specialist and now she is managing the Oxfam Ethiopia’s Gender Program since 2020.

GENDER/DEVELOPMENT Almaz has MA Degree in Gender Studies and BA Degree in Political Science and International Relations from Addis Ababa University. She has worked for governmental and non-governmental organizations and UN agencies as an employee and consultant. Her research works focused on land policy, social policy, education, particularly girls’ education, Harmful Traditional Practices, and other gender and development related issues. She has conducted trainings on issues of gender and different development issues, gender in leadership and decision making, gender assertiveness, gender mainstreaming in programs and projects and gender transformation. She has facilitated trainings, workshops, seminars, panel discussions and organized and led teams in different research works that demand participation of different disciplines. She was also engaged in evaluation of different programs carried out by international, Africa based and local organizations in collaboration with consultancy firms.
