EDUCATOR/GENDER SPECIALIST/RESEARCHER 

Meron is an Associate Professor who has extensively researched and published on various gender related issues in Ethiopia and the Horn of Africa regions. She has years of teaching and research experience at renowned academic institutions in Africa, North America, Europe and Asia, and is a member of several international academic associations. She has rich research experience on numerous international and national academic research projects. Her core research expertise is in areas of migration, gendered labor markets, violence against women, religion, and customary conflict resolution. Meron has extensively published in internationally renowned peer-reviewed journal on a wide range of topics. She has authored books, edited volumes and journals, contributed chapters to several edited volumes and entries in encyclopedias including the oxford research encyclopedia of African history. She is an international editorial board member of Islamic Africa (Brill) and the Editor in Chief of the Ethiopian Journal of Human Rights. She has received several international awards and grants for her researches. She is one of the few African prominent scholars included in Academia. Net, the platform for selected female scientists around the globe recognized for their research and publications. She has also been featured on BBC with a special focus on her research on gender issues in the horn of Africa.
