FACT CHECKER/BUSINESS JOURNALIST

Kiya works for Code for Africa (CfA). Prior to joining CfA, she was a reporter for the Ethiopian Business Review magazine. She has taken part in the European Journalism Centre project called Interruptrr Africa. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Addis Ababa Institute of Technology. Also, she has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Unity University. Kiya won a gold medal and trophy from Unity University for academic excellence. She is a 2019 YALI RLC EA fellow. She is interested in economics, fact-checking, investigative journalism, technology, gender equality, development issues, SDGs, and Agenda 2063. She is also a fellow at ONE.
