ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/LECTURER 

Kenatu is an Associate Professor at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University. Kenatu received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Chemistry from Addis Ababa University in 2006, her Master of Science in Environmental Engineering from Addis Ababa Institute of Technology in 2011, and her Doctor of Philosophy in Water and Wastewater Treatment from the Ethiopian Institute of Water Resource at Addis Ababa University in 2018. Kenatu worked as a lecturer at the department of environmental engineering in the College of Biological and Chemical Engineering at the Addis Ababa Science and Technology University from September 2011 to November 2018 and from December 2018 to January 2023, as an assistant professor. Kenatu has more than 12 years of work experience in teaching, conducting research, and serving the community in the areas of water and wastewater, air pollution control, solid waste management, energy recovery from wastes, and thought for undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the discipline of environmental engineering. She has also supervised more than nine MSc Theses, and she is currently supervising five MSc students and one PhD student. In the field of environmental engineering, Kenatu has published more than 12 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her area of interest is wastewater treatment research, water purification, air and water pollution control, solid waste management, and waste-to-energy conversion.
